Chris Wake
Chris is the Founder and General Partner of Atypical Ventures, the first-check investor in engineers with empathy. Atypical backs founders with the raw intellectual horsepower for breakthrough technical innovation and the soft skills to recruit the right people to turn that breakthrough innovation into a truly transformative company.
Chris was formerly the first employee and head of operations at Spire, the small satellite operator, and established early operations at Clearbit and Vercel. His experiences span machine learning and computer vision, developer tooling, cybersecurity, satellites, distributed systems, and web3, among others.
Chris received his Bachelor’s from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Oxford. He is currently living in New York City.
